The Atlanta Motor Speedway is home to two NASCAR races a year: the Golden Corral 500 and the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500. Situated just 25 miles south of Atlanta, the Raceway holds Georgia's largest sporting events.
On July 30, 1960, Fireball Roberts won the first NASCAR race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. March 6, 1980, Rusty Wallace got his first NASCAR start. In 2000, Darrell Waltrip competed in his final NASCAR event, the NAPA 500.
